Dear Parent(s), Guardian(s) & Student(s):

As of this writing, we are going to try to present to you our best layout for the remainder of the year, absent any additional Governor’s Executive Orders that might change our plans.  First, I would like to share what a tremendous pleasure it is to begin to prepare the honoring and celebrating our seniors, the Class of 2020.  The road we have traveled from March 17th until now, is definitely a route never traveled before.  Let’s make some lemonade out of the lemons we have had these last months!

Graduation:

Friday, June 26, 2020 (Location or Virtual TBD)

Graduation is going to take place on its previously scheduled day of Friday, June 26, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.  That said, we still (as of this writing) are being advised NOT to hold any type of graduation ceremony or any event that requires social congregation on school property.  This recommendation cites the Governor’s May 15th Executive Order.  Should this change and we are able to gather with limited participation, I would be more than pleased to support this.

If we can have graduation on campus, we will, and it will be under the tent that we typically have.  It will also be limited to very few guests of our graduates due to social/physical distancing.  I can share now, that there will be no non-essential faculty per se, no band playing, no hundreds of community members, most likely no bag pipers, etc.

If we have to do a (Virtual) graduation ceremony, we will be working with our technology department to assist.  We may do a Zoom ceremony whereby each family is remotely off-campus, faculty could join, the Board could join, etc…  We may also try to record this and Stream the ceremony on the internet.  More to follow on this manner.

The Governor required all school districts to utilize all of its remaining snow days during his initial March 18th – March 31st Executive Order closing; we did so, and teachers taught on those days.  The Governor also required instruction during our April Break from April 6th through April 13th; we did so, and teachers taught on those days.  Those cumulative additional 10-ten instructional days place the District at reaching its 180th day of instruction on Friday, June 12, 2020That day will be the last date of instruction.
