I am pleased to report that the 2019-20 school year has started on a positive note and our students are doing well.

On October 3rd we  hosted our 11th annual “Evening of Excellence” to honor those students in grades 7-12 who maintained a GPA of 90% or higher during the 2018-19 school year.  This is always a rewarding event to honor our best and brightest.

In addition, we are passionate about the Arts and continue to afford our youngsters those opportunities to participate and be exposed to the Arts.  In November we took our annual school-wide trip to NYC for nearly 100 children and chaperones to go to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show.  In addition, our Drama Club, led by advisor, Ms. Elaine Smith, Ms. Kellie Daino and Mr. John Bernhardt, is worked diligently on their  performance of “The Lion King” which took place on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9.

Working with children and educating our young people is sometimes a challenging task, but one with many rewards.  As in the past, this year our focus continues to be on improving student achievement as well as ensuring that all our seniors graduate in June 2020.  Our overall aim is still the same; to provide the very best educational experience for all our students and to assist each student in preparing for their future.

Lastly, I hope that every child comes to school each day prepared to learn and eager to participate in the exciting opportunities offered here at Andes.
