I am pleased to report that the 2017-18 school year has started on a positive note and our students are doing well.  I would like take this opportunity to thank those community members who came out to support our Capital Project on September 26th.  The Board of Education and I appreciate your support of the project and we can now move forward with repairs and renovations to make our facility safer and more energy efficient for our children and staff.

On October 5th we will hosted our 9th annual “Evening of Excellence” to honor those students in grades 7-12 who maintained a GPA of 90% or higher during the 2016-17 school year.  This is always a rewarding event to honor our best and brightest.

In addition, we are passionate about the Arts and continue to afford our youngsters those opportunities to participate and be exposed to the Arts.  On November 8, 2017 we took our annual school-wide trip to NYC for over 100 children and chaperones to go to the Broadway Show “Wicked”.  In addition, our Drama Club, led by advisor, Mrs. Elaine Peck, Ms. Kellie Daino and Mr. John Bernhardt, is working diligently on their upcoming performance of “Legally Blonde”, which will take place on Friday, March 9th,  Saturday, March 10th, and Sunday, March 11th

Working with children and educating our young people is sometimes a challenging task, but one with many rewards.  As in the past, this year our focus continues to be on improving student achievement as well as ensuring that all our seniors graduate in June 2018.  Our overall aim is still the same; to provide the very best educational experience for all our students and to assist each student in preparing for their future.

Lastly, I hope that every child comes to school each day prepared to learn and eager to participate in the exciting opportunities offered here at Andes.
