Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

On Friday, April 20, 2018, Andes Central School will be bringing in a team of motivational speakers that bring the message of “Sweethearts and Heroes”, which is aimed at educating society about the impact of bullying on schools, neighborhoods, and individuals.  They are a high energy, highly entertaining group focused on changing school climate and empowering individuals to become “sweethearts and heroes”, caring for others and taking a stand against bullying.

There will be presenters for students at all grade levels throughout the day.  Students will learn about bullying, the effects that it has on others and how to take a stand against bullying.  Students will be encouraged to be empathetic towards their peers and others.  When students are not in one of the sessions, they will be attending their regular classes.

School staff will be participating in a staff development session once students are dismissed, that is focused on the “sweethearts and heroes” message and how it can be further implemented at Andes to combat bullying and to change school climate

That said, in order for the staff development session to take place, school will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. on that day.  There will also be no CROP.
